Job Description

Salary: $100,000 - 140,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Engineering, or a closely related discipline; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered in place of the degree.
• We require at least five years of PostgreSQL database administration experience with a demonstrated history of successfully operating and maintaining database environments.
• We require DoD 8140.01 IAT Level II certification.
• We require strong experience with Linux and/or Red Hat systems.
• We require cloud architecture experience with platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
• We prefer a masters degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• We prefer experience with geospatial data, such as PostGIS.
• We prefer experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Ansible or Satellite.
• We prefer knowledge of NoSQL databases, database automation and scripting, data integration, and ETL workflows.
• We prefer prior experience supporting a DoD Combatant Command or a component.
• We require active TS/SCI clearance.

• We collaborate on the design, implementation, and upkeep of complex database environments with a focus on availability, scalability, and security.
• We guide and mentor junior and mid-level administrators in advanced database technologies, architecture, and design practices.
• We lead performance tuning efforts, refine database settings for optimal operation, and implement disaster recovery plans that support continuity and resilience.
• We partner with application developers, architects, and business analysts to build efficient data models, advanced database solutions, and migration strategies.
• We help develop and enforce strict database security policies and procedures aligned with industry standards and regulatory obligations.
• We remain in a stationary position for part of the day and occasionally move around the office to access resources and communicate with colleagues and customers, including through presentations.
